Pastor Doug Duty
Staff Bio: J. Douglas Duty Jr. (Doug)
As the Lead Pastor it is my privilege to work with a great team to lead TMBC to be a church who reaches out to the community and make an impact for Jesus not just on our community but on lives around the world.
We love to see people have a relationship with Jesus and then to grow into all that God desires them to be.
Whats important to me as part of a church is:
People - leading, building, encouraging all people to a relationship with Jesus & relationships with others on this journey.
The real connection in prayer - a consistent conversation with God.
Being authentic, being real - both in taking the teaching in the Bible from paper to reality, and in being real with each other.
That leads to a genuine sense of community – daily, as a lifestyle.
Showing both grace and compassion mixed with God’s truth.
And reaching out to the community and beyond with that truly and grace. f
I have been married - a long time. My wife, Deborah is truly a partner in life and in ministry and I couldn’t do life without her. We have two adult children and four grandkids. Family is extremely important to us so we take as much time with them as we can.
When did you get to TMBC?
Deb and I came to TMBC in February 2016 after having been in Tennessee and before that Virginia.
We have come to really love the Garner / Raleigh area and our TMBC family.
What is your hope for TMBC?
Not to sound like a cliche, but to just be what God wants us to be.
A real community of disciples who share real life, that reaches out to the greater community with the love and truth of Jesus.
My hope is that at TMBC we make a real and lasting difference in the lives of people wherever we go, sharing Jesus and making Disciples.
What do you do for fun?
Time with family, time with friends.
What is your favorite book?
That’s hard to say. I don’t read a lot of fiction. I do read a lot, but it tends to be church and life related.
